The dispersal of seeds by water is called hydrochory. These seeds have floating devices e.g., fibrous mesocarp in coconut sum double coconut, spongy thalamus in lotus.
The dispersal of seeds by animals is called zoochory. The fruits and seeds are carried by birds, grazing animals and man e.g., Xanthium Achyranthes, Viscum, Peach, plum, mango etc. The dispersal of fruits and seeds by explosive or spring like mechanism is called autochon e.g. Geranium, Bauhinia, Phlox, Ruellia etc.
