Q. In an atom, two electrons move around the nucleus in circular orbits of radii $R$ and $4R$. The ratio of the time taken by them to complete one revolution is :-

Solution:

$T ^{2} \propto$ (Radius of the orbit) $^{3}$
$\therefore \frac{ T _{1}^{2}}{ T _{2}^{2}}=\frac{ R ^{3}}{(4 R )^{3}}=\frac{1}{64}$
or $\frac{ T _{1}}{ T _{2}}=\frac{1}{8}$
