$ΔI_{E}=0.50 \, \, mA=0.50\times 10^{3 \, }A$
$\alpha =\frac{ΔI_{C}}{ΔI_{E}}$
$\beta =\frac{\alpha }{1 - \alpha }=\frac{\frac{0 .49}{0 .50}}{1 - \frac{0 .49}{0 .50}}$
$=\frac{49}{50 \left(1 - \frac{49}{50}\right)}$
$=\frac{49 \times 50}{50 \left(50 - 49\right)}$
$\beta =49$
