Q. In a sinusoidal wave, the time required for a particular point to move from maximum displacement to zero displacement is $0.14\, s$. The frequency of the wave is

KEAMKEAM 2009Waves

Solution:

Time Taken by the wave to travel a distance equal to one wavelength
$ =0.14\times 4 $
$ =0.56s $
Frequency $ {{f}_{c}}=\frac{I}{T} $
$ =\frac{1}{0.56} $
$ f=\frac{100}{56} $
Or $ f=1.79\,Hz $
