Q. In a $P N$ -junction diode,

Semiconductor Electronics: Materials Devices and Simple Circuits

Solution:

In forward biased $P N$ -junction, extemal voltage decreases the potential barrier, so current is maximum. While in reversed biased $P N$ -junction, external voltage increases the potential barrier, so the current is very small.
