Q. In a hypothetical system a particle of mass m and charge -3q is moving around a very heavy particle charge q. Assume that Bohr's model is applicable to this system.then velocity of mass m in first orbit is

Atoms

Solution:

$\frac{m \nu^2}{r} = \frac{1}{4 \pi \, in_0} \frac{3q^2}{r^2}$
$m \nu r = \frac{nh}{2 \pi}$
using above equations, putting n = 1
$\nu = \frac{3 q^2}{2 \, in_0 \, h}$
