The $ G_{1} $ phase (post mitotic gap period) involves transcription of $3$ types of RNA (r-RNA, m-RNA, t-RNA), proteins necessary for DNA replication and enzymes. Terminally differentiated somatic cells that no longer divide are arrested usually in $ G_{1} $ stage such a type of $ G_{1} $ phase is called $ G_{2} $ phase.
