Bacteria is a prokaryotic cell, in which mitochondria is not the site of respiration. Plasma-membrane which is permeable, is the site of respiratory enzymes. Mesosomes are in floldings of the cell membrane. They appear to be associated with DNA during cell division, or gani sing the separation of the two daughter molecules of DNA other replication and helping in the formation of new cross-wall between the daughter cells.
