Solution:

R.H. Whittaker (1969) proposed five kingdom classification. He divided organisms into Kingdom Monera, Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia based on Cell Structure, Thallus organisation Mode of nutrition, Reproduction, Phylogenetic relationship. Bacteria are the sole members of kingdom Monera. Monera includes Archaebacteria (oldest living fossil), Eubacteria(True bacteria) like nitrogen-fixing bacteria, blue-green algae, Mycoplasma.
