Solution:

$y=e^{\frac{1}{2}log\left(1+tan^{2}\,x\right)}$
$=\left(sec^{2}\,x\right)^{1/2}=sec\,x$
$\therefore \frac{dy}{dx}=sec\,x\,tan\,x$
