Solution:
$i=\frac{30}{R+1} mA$
voltage across $1\, k \Omega=\frac{30}{R+1} \cdot 1=\frac{30}{R+1}=v^{2}$
$\frac{30}{R+1}=6 $
$30=6 R+6 $
$24+6 R \Rightarrow R=\frac{24}{6} 4 \,k \Omega$
