Q. If the vas deferens of both sides are cut, then

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020

Solution:

Vasa deferentia (Singular-vas deferens): The vas deferens is a continuation of the cauda epididymis. It is about 45cm long and is coiled initially but as it enters the abdominal cavity through the inguinal canal it becomes straight. Vasa deferentia (duct deferentes) conduct sperms from the epididymis to urethra and are lined by pseudostratified columnar epithelia.
Vasectomy: It is a permanent method of sterilization in males. In this method, vas deferentia are cut and both the ends are tied by a minor surgical operation. This prevents the transport of sperms towards ejaculatory duct sexual intercourse. Vasectomy is effective but is irreversible. The sperms continue to form but cannot reach the urethra. Such, sperm undergoes lysis and are removed.
