Q. If the temperature increases, then what happens to the frequency of the sound produced by the organ pipe?

MHT CETMHT CET 2011

Solution:

Due to rise in temperature, the speed of sound increases. Since frequency $n=\frac{v}{\lambda}$ and $\lambda$ remains unchanged. Hence frequency $n$ increases.
