Q. If the osmotic pressure of a $0.010 M$ aqueous solution of sucrose at $27^{\circ} C$ is $0.25$ atm, then the osmotic pressure of a $0.010 M$ aqueous solution of $NaCl$ at $27^{\circ} C$ is

Solution:

Osmotic pressure $=i C R T$, For both the solutions, all other conditions are similar except '$i$' which is $1.0$ for sucrose while $2.0$ for $NaCl$.
Therefore, osmotic pressure of $NaCl$
$=2 \times 0.25$
$=0.50 \,atm$
