Karl von Frisch is the first ethologist who discovered the activity of bee to communicate with each other, on the basis of his observation he says that bees perform a waggle dance to communicate with each other and gives the direction and distance of the nectar from water and hives. He was awarded by the Nobel Prize in the year 1973 for this work. The round dance is performed by worker bees when the food source is within the range of 50 metres from the hive. A circle is completed in one direction, followed by stopping and running in the opposite direction. During the dance, the worker bee passes a sample of the nectar to the other workers, so they know the taste and smell of the source.
