Solution:

If $\sigma$ is mass per unit area, then mass of square plate is
$l^{2} \sigma$ and mass of circular plate is $\frac{\pi l^{2} \sigma}{4} .$ Since, the square plate
is more massive than the circular plate, therefore the centre of mass of the composite system is inside the square plate.
