Current gain, $\beta =\frac{\textit{I}_{c}}{\textit{I}_{\textit{b}}}=\frac{\textit{I}_{c}}{\textit{I}_{\textit{e}} - \textit{I}_{c}}=\frac{\text{5.488}}{\text{5.60} - \text{5.488}}=\frac{\text{5.488}}{\text{0.112}}=49.$
