Q. If temperature is changed from $ 27{}^\circ C $ to $ 327{}^\circ C $ . The ratio of K.E. molecules at two temperatures:

JIPMERJIPMER 2002

Solution:

$ {{E}_{k}}=\frac{3}{2}kT $ or $ {{E}_{k}}\propto T $ Hence $ \frac{{{E}_{{{k}_{1}}}}}{{{E}_{{{k}_{2}}}}}=\frac{{{T}_{1}}}{{{T}_{2}}}=\frac{(27+273)}{(327+273)}=\frac{300}{600}=\frac{1}{2} $ so the ratio =1:2
