Q. If height of a satellite from the surface of earth is increased, then its

Gravitation

Solution:

For a satellite orbiting at height $h$ from earth,
$ P.E =-\frac{G M_{e} m_{s}}{\left(R_{e}+h\right)} $
$ K.E =\frac{G M_{e} m_{s}}{2\left(R_{e}+h\right)} $
$ T.E =-\frac{G M_{e} m_{s}}{2\left(R_{e}+h\right)}$
If $h$ is increased,
P.E increases (becomes less negative)
K.E decreases
T.E increases (becomes less negative)
