Q. If $H _{2} SO _{4}$ ionises as $H _{2} SO _{4}+2 H _{2} O \rightarrow 2 H _{3} O ^{+}+ SO _{4}^{2-}$ Then total number of ions produced by $0.1 \, mol\, H _{2} SO _{4}$ will be:

Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry

Solution:

$1 \, M$ produces ions $=3$ moles

$\therefore 0.1 \, M \, H _{2} SO _{4}$ produce ions $=0.3\, mol$

Number of ions$=0.3 \times 6.02 \times 10^{23}$

$=1.8 \times 10^{23}$
