Q. If $g_{h}$ and $g_{d}$ be the accelerations due to gravity at a height $h$ and at depth $d$, above and below the surface of earth respectively. Assuming $h< < R$ and $d< < R$ and if $g_{h}=g_{d}$ then :

We use $g_{h}=g_{d}$
$g\left(1-\frac{2 h}{R}\right) \cong g\left(1-\frac{d}{R}\right) $
$\Rightarrow d=2 h$
