$ \frac{1}{R}=\frac{1}{9}+\ldots 9 $ times
$\Rightarrow R=1\, \Omega $
$i=\frac{V}{R}=\frac{9}{1}=9 \,amp$

Reading of ammeter
$=1+1+1+1+1=5\, amp$
