Q. If a light ray incidents normally on one of the faces of the prism of refractive index $2$ and the emergent ray just grazes the second face of the prism, then the angle of deviation is

Solution:

$\sin c=\frac{1}{\mu}=\frac{1}{2} $
$\Rightarrow C=30^{\circ}$
$r_{1}+r_{2}=A$
$0+c=A $
$\Rightarrow A=30^{\circ}$
$i_{1}+i_{2}=A+d$
$0+90=30+d $
$\Rightarrow d=60^{\circ}$
