Q. If a is the length of the side of a cube, the distance between the body centered atom and one corner atom in the cube will be

Solution:

As for bcc structure $r=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{4}a$
So $2r=\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}a$
As 2r represents the distance between the bcc atom and one of the corner atom so in a cube
the distance between the body centred atom and one corner atom is $\frac{\sqrt{3}}{2}a$ .
