Q. Identify the set of hormones respectively antagonistic to somatostatin and insulin.

Solution:

Hypothalamus $ \rightarrow $ Secretion of Somatostatin $ \rightarrow $ Inhibition of release of Growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. Somatotrophin is the antagonistic hormone that is secreted and commonly known as growth hormone.
Insulin decreases blood sugar level while glucagon increases it. Insulin is produced by beta cells and glucagon is produced by the alpha cells of Islets of Langerhans.
