Q. Identify the one that relates to one of the key concepts of the Darwinian theory of evolution, the branching descent

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020Evolution

Solution:

Branching descent and natural selection are the two key concepts of Darwinian Theory of Evolution. New species development from a single common descendent is called branching descent. Here the new species that are forming have a common point of origin which means they will have some percentage of similarity to connect back to its ancestor. This similarity among species connecting to a single ancestor accounts for the homology.
