The general steps are DNA replication where information is copied and preserved. It is followed by the two-step process of protein synthesis having transcription and translation.
Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a retrovirus having RNA has the genetic material uses the enzyme reverse transcriptase to make a copy of from RNA. This DNA is integrated into the genome of the host cell which then follows the normal route of central dogma to make new proteins for assembly of new HIV in the host cell.
