Functions of Thyroid gland/hormones :
$1.$ Regulation of the basal metabolic rate (BMR).
$2.$ Regulate the process of red blood cell formation and menstrual cycle.
$3.$ Controlling the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
$4.$ Maintenance of water and electrolyte balance.
$5.$ Decrease the blood calcium levels by secreting another protein hormone : Thyrocalcitonin (TCT).
