Q. Identify the fungus, which produces chlamydospores from dikaryotic mycelium

EAMCETEAMCET 2008

Solution:

Chlamydospore is a specially modified thick walled resting cell. The sporidia of Sphacelotheca fuse in pair and form dikaryotic mycelium. Individual cells of the hyphae round off, nuclei of the cell fuse and the cell develop a thick wall around them like chlamydospore.
