Solution:

In acidic medium, $MnO_{4}^{-}$ reduces is $Mn^{2+}$ and oxidises $I^{-}$ to $I_{2}$.
$\therefore KI + MnO_{4}^{-} \xrightarrow{H^{+}} I_{2} + Mn^{2+}$
In basic medium, $MnO_{4}^{-}$ reduces to $MnO_{2}$ and produces $IO_{3}^{-}$.
$ \therefore KI + MnO_{4}^{-} \xrightarrow{OH^{-}} MnO_{2} + IO_{3}^{-}$
