Solution:

ER is single membrane bounded tubes which forms channels in cytoplasm. It consists of empty lumen, thus it divides cytoplasm into two compartments, luminal chamber, inside ER and extra luminal chamber, outside ER. SER carries out lipid synthesis and detoxification of toxic chemicals.
