$CaH _{2}+2 H _{2} O \longrightarrow Ca ( OH )_{2}+2 H _{2} \uparrow $
$Ca +2 H _{2} O \longrightarrow Ca ( OH )_{2}+ H _{2} \uparrow$
Calcium carbide with water gives acetylene and calcium oxide with water gives calcium hydroxide.
