Glomerular filtration or ultrafiltration is the process of urine formation and about 1100-1200 ml of blood (1/5th of cardiac output) is filtered at the level of the glomerulus in both the kidneys per minute. Filtration is a non-selective process. The glomerular capillary blood pressure results in the filtration of blood.
