Solution:
Therapeutic proteins that are synthesised by recombinant DNA technology are called recombinant therapeutics.
These have been gaining importance in modern medicine since the first such protein drug, insulin, was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1982. At present, there are about 30 such recombinant therapeutic proteins approved worldwide, and currently, 12 are being marketed in India.
(1) Erythropoietin
2) Human insulin
(3) Streptokinase
(4) Hepatitis B vaccine
(5) Blood factor VIII
(6) Human growth hormone
(7) Follicle stimulating hormone
(8) Granulocyte colony stimulating factor
(9) Granulocyte macrophage CSF
(10) Human interleukin
(11) Interferon α
(12) Interferon γ
