Ascomycetes include multicellular organisms with some rare unicellular ones. They are commonly known as sac-fungi. These fungi are saprophytic, decomposers, parasitic or coprophilous (growing on dung) with branched mycelium. The examples of ascomycetes are as follows: Aspergillus, Claviceps, Neurospora, Saccharomyces(unicellular). Ustilago belongs to basidiomycetes, Trichoderma and Colletotrichum belong to Deuteromycetes and Albugo belongs to Phycomycetes.
