Iodoform test is given by alcohols containing $\left(CH\right)_{3}-CH\left(\right.OH\left.\right)-$ group linked to carbon or hydrogen atom. Thus, butan $-2-ol$ , $1$ -cyclobutylethanol, ethanol, propan $-2-ol$ , $1$ -phenylethanol will give positive iodoform test.
