High-density polyethylene is a linear polymer. Novolac is formed by phenol and formaldehyde, and it is a linear polymer. Nylon-$6$ is formed from caprolactam and it is a polyamide. Linear chain polymers are chain-growth polymers, Teflon is an example of it. Condensations polymers are generally step growth polymers, Dacron is an example of it. Copolymers are formed from two different monomer units. Homopolymers are formed from a single monomer unit.
