Q.
How many human teeth appear twice during the life-span of an individual?
NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2020
Solution:
Human beings show a diphyodont type of dentition. They form two sets of teeth during their life, i.e., a set of deciduous teeth that can be replaced by a set of permanent or adult teeth. 20 milk teeth of a child get replaced in adulthood by 20 permanent teeth, which are called as diphyodonts.
However, the other 12 can never be replaced if broken. These 12 teeth grow only once in a man’s life. These sets of teeth are known as Monophydont.
