Q. How does, the electric field (E) between the plates of a charged cylindrical capacitor vary with the distance r from the axis of the cylinder?

ManipalManipal 2008Electric Charges and Fields

Solution:

Electric field due to outer plate is zero and so the electric field due to inner cylindrical charged conductor varies inversely as the distance from the axis.
