Solution:

$HIV$ (human immunodeficiency virus) causes $AIDS$ (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome). $AIDS$ is a chronic life threatening disorder which damages the human body's immune system. It is characterized by reduction in the number of helper $T$-Iymphocytes because of infection of $HIV$. The most efficient means of transmission is blood transfusion $(-60\%)$, followed by sexual intercourse $(25\%)$ and then placental transmission $(10\%)$.
