- Each myosin (thick) filament is a polymerized protein with meromyosin as the monomeric protein.
- Each meromyosin has two parts:
$A.$ Heavy meromyosin (HMM) - Globular head with a short arm. It projects outwards at regular intervals and angles from the surface of a polymerized myosin filament and is known as a cross arm.
$B.$ Light meromyosin (LMM) - Tail.
