Solution:

• The characteristic feature of the mammalian bone is the presence of Haversian canals or osteons (vertical)
• Haversian canal contains an artery, a vein, alymph vessel and a nerve. Cartilage and Cornea have no blood supply
• The Haversian canals are interconnected by transverse canals called Volkmann’s canals (Horizontal)
