Solution:

The Haversian canal is characteristic feature of the mammalian bones. They are present in the matrix. They generally run parallel to the bone surface. Each Haversian canal contains an artery, a vein, a lymph vessel, a nerve and some bone cells, all packed in with connective tissue. The Haversian canals are interconnected by transverse channels, the Volkmann's canals.
