Solution:

Boron carbide is written as $B _{4} C$. It is produced by reducing $B _{2} O _{3}$ with $C$ at $1600^{\circ} C$. Fibres of $B_{4}$ C have an enormous tensile strength and are used to make bullet- proof clothing.
