Q.
$ {{H}_{2}}S $ is more acidic than $ {{H}_{2}}O $ , due to:
Delhi UMET/DPMTDelhi UMET/DPMT 2003
Solution:
Proton donors are acids. Between $H _{2} O$ and $H _{2} S$ the molecule which is having weaker bond, will give $H^{+}$ ion easily and hence more acidic.
$\because H_{2} S$ larger in size as compared to $H _{2} O$:
$ \because H _{2} S$ can be dissociated easily and therefore it can easily give $H_4$ ions.
$\therefore H_{2} S$ is more acidic than $H _{2} O$.
