Q. Grey matter is present at the periphery of white matter in

UP CPMTUP CPMT 2014

Solution:

Grey matter is part of the tissue that makes up the central nervous system of vertebrates. It is brown-grey in colour, consisting largely of nerve cell bodies, synapses, and dendrites. The grey matter is the site of coordination between nerves of the central nervous system. It is found at periphery of white matter in brain but the condition is reversed in spinal cord. In the spinal cord, white matter is at the periphery of grey matter.
