Q. Graph between $ \log \left( \frac{x}{m} \right) $ and log p is a straight line at angle $ {{45}^{o}} $ with intercept $OA$ as shown. Hence, $ \left( \frac{x}{m} \right) $ at a pressure of $0.2$ atm isChemistry Question Image

Solution:

$\log \left(\frac{x}{m}\right)=\log k+\frac{1}{n} \log p$
Given, $\log k=0.3010$ = intercept on $y$ -axis
and $\frac{1}{n}=\tan 45^{\circ}=1=$ slope
$\therefore \log \left(\frac{x}{m}\right)=0.3010+1 x \log 0.2$
$=\log 2+\log 0.2$
$=\log 0.4$
$\therefore \frac{x}{m}=0.4$
