Solution:

The passage of end products of digestion through the mucosal lining of alimentary canal into blood and lymph is called absorption.
Absorption takes place by various ways like simple diffusion, osmosis, facilitated transport and active transport.
Passive transport of fructose involves a carrier protein without the utilisation of ATP. Hence, it is also called facilitated transport.
