Tergites, Labium, Hypopharynx, Tegmina, Genital pouch, Labrum, Mandible

NTA AbhyasNTA Abhyas 2022

Solution:

The cockroach has a segmented body and is divided into head, thorax and abdomen. There is a pair of antennae arising from the sockets in front of the eyes. The labrum and the labium are the upper and lower lip with a hypopharynx which is the tongue. The tergites are the hardened dorsal plates of the exoskeleton and the genital pouch is a part of the female cockroach formed by the 8th and 9th sterna. Therefore the cockroaches have only two paired structures which are its forewings(tegmina) and the mandibles.
