Solution:

Polymorphism refers to the variety of size, shape and structure of an object. Concerning DNA sequences, it shows variations at the nucleotide level, which may be due to the consequence of mutation. It also causes varieties in expressions and turns polymorphism in various respects. It is also the source of evolution and speciation. However, most of such change is a silent mutation, because 98% part of the genome is non-coding. A mutation is the basis of variation, and variation is the basis of evolution.
